Car hunting

Yesterday, I went for second hand car viewing with friends. It was 2000 Honda Civic with only 104k mileage, selling at 4k. According to my senior, the price was quite reasonable with the car in good condition and well maintained. However, the owner wanted me to give him answer on the spot. Angmoh doesn't like bargaining. It either u take or just leave it. Worrying that I couldn't be able to get such nice car again, I took it. I reserved it with 50 bucks deposit and was thinking to do the full payment by cash the next day.

Who knows.....something bad happened this morning. I was told by the car owner that the car badly needs repairment after an accident by his sister. I was shocked and finally decided to give up the car. Thinking back about it, I doubt if he got a better buyer. That could be just an excuse to reject my offer. Sigh, it is destined not to be mine.....

However, I am glad I still have my red Chevrolet! I love it so much and how I wish it can be mine!!!! Well, I know...it is going to be returned soon after one month because it is just a rental car from Avis provided by company for temporary. I will miss you, my red Chevrolet......

New destination

It has been a while I left this unattended. Too busy to settle down and accustom to new environment.....

Finally, I am here in South San Franscisco. First 3 days, I struggled with my biological clock--very bad jet lag. I woke up almost every 3 am and struggled hard to fall asleep again. I felt asleep in afternoon. Panda eyes were getting bigger day after day.

I have so much to share yet so little time to get to blog. Anyway, let me briefly share the 10 things I like and noticed here so far:

1) I like the weather here. Not too cold, not too hot but just nice! Range around 10-15 degree celcius.

2) I like my room! Studio type of suite, with kitchen and living room attached. Too bad I'll only be here for a month!

3) I quite enjoy doing things together with other trainees here. We have breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. We laugh, we make fun of each and we help one another.

4) I like the company. They emphasize on human wellfare and they provide lots of benefits to their staff. Good company, good choice!

5) I hope I can get used the left hand side driving, especially turning part.

6) I am glad I am still be able to catch their words, at least much easier to listen compare to OZ slang.

7) I finally have my own cubicle at work! I've never ever had it before.....so it's nice to have my own space.

8) I am sick of bread. The breakfast provided in hotel is 365 days the same....

9) The handphone utility is expensive! One calling out or in....charge USD1.00/day even it's just a few min or sec of talk!

10) First time wearing the safety boots at work and it's really hard!

Overall, it's really a good place to live in.
